AMBALA, Oct 7: The sleepy town of Ambala will have the facility of computerised diagnosis through Internet technology at the privately-managed Nandra hospital.

The facility will help the patient to learn about his or her illness in great detail and enable him or her actively participate in his or her own treatment.

Dr Ashok Nandra, former orthopedics associate professor DMC, Ludhiana, who is the pioneer in using C-arm image intensifier through Ilizarov technology in this region, will be the first to use information technology in learning the latest surgical procedures and offering them to patients.

Nandra says that he will be able to take advice from specialists in other countries even at the operation theater if a problem arises during the operation. He said many hospitals worldwide were opening up their resources to everybody, especially to medical specialists. Medical consultations over the Internet were becoming commonplace.
