Culinary expertise
Bharatiya Vidyapeeth University Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology IHMCT had recently organised a chef competition for its students. The objective was to involve students to rediscover European food and enjoy the bliss of cooking as well. The event witnessed an encouraging response with 11 teams participating in it. Each team comprised four students and was led by a final year student. Students not only explored continental menu but also tried many imaginative yet practical dishes. The budding chefs experimented with lesser known ingredients, cooking and presentation style. The corporate executive chef of Best Western The Pride, chef David Gomes and chef Prashant Admane of Hotel Sun-n-sand were the judges for the evening. Craving, a team led by Anshul Jairath, Connect de la France led by Ravi Kumar and Stallions led by Naman Khanna were adjudged the winners of the contest.

Rock the campus
Boys of Nowrosjee Wadia College were declared runners up in a rock music event that was a part of Kaleidoscope, the Sophia College Festival in Mumbai. The rock music event was named Electrocuted, where the band Shield from N W College participated. The band comprised Siddhant Chamola on lead guitar and vocal, Karthik Rajan on rhythm guitar, Keshav Iyengar on bass guitar and backing vocal and Tejas Menon on drums.

CD on effective communication
Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development IMED, BVP, and Asian Centre of Research and Training ACRT are jointly producing a CD on effective communication. The shooting for the above-mentioned project has already started and is being done in Pune itself. 8220;This series will be used to teach interpersonal communication skills, which are a part of MBA syllabus,8221; said Balkrishna Damle, director, ACRT. In this series one common office incidence, is examined and analysed by professor Jaswina Kumar from Symbiosis, professor Makaranda Pol from IMED, Dr Nita Nakre from Maharastra Medical Foundation and Bhasar Entrepreneur. The series will be produced under the guidance of Nitin Nayak, director IMED. Professional artist Vijay Mishra has participated in the dramatised version of it.

National HR Share
International School of Business and Media ISB038;M had organised its eighth national share on September 12 and 13. The theme for the event this year was Move Ahead or Move Out, Speed Across The Continents. The event was inaugurated with the lighting of the traditional lamp. Pramod Kumar, president ISB038;M and Vigneshwar Bhat, director ISB038;M also graced the occasion. Also present were many eminent speakers from across the country who are top HR heads from companies like LG, ITC InfoTech, Tata Technologies, and Cognizant to name a few.

Essay contest
The Tata Group felicitated the young creative thinkers of Pune at the city level awards function- Tata Building India Essay Competition held at the Vidya Bhavan High School in Shivajinagar. The chief guest for the evening, Deepak J Tilak, vice chancellor, Tilak Maharashtra University, Pune gave away the trophies and certificates to the students. The winners of the three categories- Junior, Middle and Senior level were Huma Hoshedar Bhola from Sardar Dastur Hormazdiar High School, Suhas Ramdas Jadhav from J N Petit Technical High School and Kanad Saha from Loyala School and Junior College respectively. The winners were recognised for their creative and thought-provoking ideas on nation building put forth in the essays. The winning essays from Pune will now be judged with winners from across 11 other cities for the National level competition.
