
Aneri shines at Dubai
City girl Aneri Chouhan has bagged the first runner-up trophy in the level two category of SIP Prodigy 2009, an international event held recently in Dubai. More than 2000 children aged seven to 13 years from India, UAE, Malaysia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka took part in the Abacus and Brain Gym competition.
Mentoring session
The Indira Group of Institutes has launched a project to bring corporate leaders and business management students together. Students pursuing such courses always have role models in their minds and meeting the role models is their dream. IIMP has therefore come up with this project that will provide a platform to such students. They will get an opportunity to interact with some successful personalities from the corporate world.
SCIT alumni meet
Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology SCIT conducted its regional Alumni meet for the students of Pune and Mumbai on December 10.The meet that was held at the SCIT Campus Hinjewadi saw 60 students participate. The alumni shared some thought-provoking insights into the present corporate and IT scenario. The interactive session reinforced the role played by alumnus in their corporate routine to their junior students.
Law Day
Symbiosis Law School SLS celebrated its Annual Law Day on December 14. Justice Tarun Chatterjee, supreme court of India, advocate Ram Jethmalani, professor Emeritus, B G Deshmukh, founder, Public Concern for Governance Trust, S B Mujumdar, chancellor, Symbiosis International University SIU, Vidya Yeravdekar, principal director, Symbiosis Society and M S Raste, vice-chancellor, SIU graced the occasion. Shashikala Gurpur, principal SLS, delivered the welcome address where she highlighted the academic and extra-curricular achievements of both, the students and the faculty of the college over the last one year.Ram Jethmalani, in his talk, condemned the recent Mumbai attacks terming them as weak and cowardly. He stressed on the need for terrorism being exterminated from the roots.
Annual convocation
Pune witnessed the top strata of corporate leaders in town today on the occasion of the 6th convocation programme of the students of the International School of Business 038; Media, Pune.
Prof O P Mishra, pro vice chancellor, IGNOU, was the chief guest. Prabhu Chawla, senior journalist, delivered the convocation address along-with the guest of honour and keynote speaker, Ganesh Natarajan, CEO, Zensar.
Pramod Kumar, founder-president, ISB and M, P K De, director, P K Gupta and the faculty were also present. Gold medals were given to the students who excelled in different fields of media.
