Indian cricket team captain, M S Dhoni visited the Foundation for Liberal And Management Education FLAME recently, where he interacted with the students of the institute. Dhoni also discussed various factors related to leadership. Talking on the change in his batting style from aggressive and flamboyant, to mature and controlled, Dhoni said, 8220;As a youngster I wanted to go and destroy the opposition. But now, as a captain and a batsman,I have a different responsibility to shoulder, but nevertheless, I enjoy both the roles I play.8221; Appreciating his humble behaviour, Parag Shah, chairman, FLAMES, concluded with the vote of thanks to the captain.

Marketing services seminar

A two-day national seminar on services marketing was recently organised by Jayawant Institute of Management Studies on the subject, Strategic Insights In Marketing Services. The objective of the seminar was to create awareness on the happenings in the service sector along with its importance in marketing those services and also to envisage the career opportunities available in various service industries. The seminar was inaugurated by Chandra Mauli, director, Pune Airport. In the inaugural address he emphasised on unique strategies used by various airlines to market their services in lieu of the staff competition so as to in the business. B G Piparaiya, general manager, Marketing, Bank of Maharashtra addressed the status of the Indian banking sector and the challenges in marketing their services.

Different Diwali

For these youngsters the festival was more than just partying or bursting crackers. Making Diwali special for the kids of Vanchit Vikas Sanstha, a NGO for the children in red light area, 25 youngsters celebrated the festival with them. 8220;We looked forward to make the festival special for them. We gifted them clothes, food grains chocolates, biscuits, note books, story books, crayons, pens, toys and crackers and so on,8221; said fashion choreographer, Sandeep Dharma who also joined the youngsters for the cause.

Chain Act 08

MIT HR summit

The HR summit organised recently by MIT group of institutions at Dnyaneshwara Hall MIT, Pune concluded successfully after hosting two-days of focused discussions on contemporary aspects of the human resources function. The HR Summit structured as a series of corporate talks and panel discussions witnessed presentations and deliberations by Senior HR professionals and academicians on a wide range of emerging topics such as8212; Role of HR in times of inflation, War of talent 8211; campus recruitment in India, Effect of global recession on Indian HR and B2E 8211; Business to employee 8211; Future trends. In his keynote address, Sunil Karad, executive director, MIT Group of Institutes said, 8220;As a nation, we have a tremendous potential in the area of human resources. With this forum, we hope to inspire and support a new wave of ideas and thoughts needed to create the next generation of young leaders and managers.8221;

Young and hopeful

Express Youth Forum had recently organised two events on the occasion of Diwali. The first one was at Army Paraplegic Center and EYF conducted a number of cultural activities along with antakshari and drawing competitions. The second event was scheduled in the evening at Savali, a home for the mentally retarded situated near Kothrud Depot. They distributed crackers and food items amongst the children. Vasant Thakar, president, Savali said, 8220;These mentally retarded students are also a part of our society, they should not be left behind as destitute and the young generation should come ahead not just to give them a helping hand but also to bring them up to a normal way of life.8221; The Event managers were Sonia Rodrigues, Sandip Vernekar, Ankit Shah and Rohan Jain.

IIJT centre inaugurated

The Indian Institute of Job Oriented Training IIJT at Aundh was recently inaugurated by advocate S K Jain, chairman, Khadaki Education Society. Alongwith Wasim Nirwan, support manager, IIJT, and Sushama Deshmukh, director, IIJT, former tourism minister and MLA, Chandrakant Chajed was present at the function. With its 275 centers across India, IIJT the centre at Aundh would be their new addition to accounts, finance and taxation course. Speaking at the occasion Sushama Deshmukh said, 8220;The technical team of IIJT, Aundh, comprises of renowned academicians, industry professionals and personality development experts. It has launched its CBA course, which is globally recognised with Cambridge international examination certification.8221; The curriculum involves classroom coursework and hands-on training as well as the practical workshops and Industrial training at various leading corporations, which gives the exposure to the areas of personality development and business knowledge. After completion of the above career program the student is awarded a Cambridge international examination certificate.
