Saturday night fever has never been quite so high. For waiting with bated breath are scores of youngsters in the city who plan to make a beeline to the seventh regional round of the War of the DJ8217;s competition at River View on July 25. The contest will see 25 aspirants who will vie with each other for the number one position. The eight Pune based contestants are Rafsy, Yusuf Kapasi, Cawas, Vivek Sood, Partha, Prashant Mehta, Roy and Girish. The war comes to Pune after having done the rounds in Mumbai, Chennai, Goa, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Calcutta and will ultimately culminate in the Mother of all Wars in Mumbai to be held in the first week of August. That is when THE best DJ of the country would be selected and crowned. And to think that a few years ago such a career never even existed!

Anyhow highlights of the evening in Pune include MTV VJ Cyrus Broacha who will compere the show in his inimitable style and Sanjay Maroo who will be playing all his popular tunes. So just in case any of you feel some tremors on Saturday evening, relax. It ain8217;t an earthquake but just 1000 watts of music hitting the city.
