Vidya Tikari has worked her hair and make-up magic on many a model and actor. Armed with an Associated Diploma in Applied Science amp; Beauty Therapy from Australia, she8217;s been in the war paint zone for eight years. Shikha Mishra finds out what8217;s new with the 28-year-old:
What8217;s happening with you these days?
I8217;ve just finished a shoot with Diana Hayden for Cosmopolitan. I have also been giving talks and attending beauty seminars organised by Lakme and Oriflame. Apart from that, there are the usual shows and classes that I conduct8230; it keeps me busy.
So is it a make-up assignment for a Bollywood flick next?
No, I don8217;t think that will happen. The make-up artists within the film industry in Mumbai have a very strong union which doesn8217;t allow women to work.
Prediction time! What8217;s hot in make-up and hair styles this season?
Shimmer and glitter is very in8217; right now, especially around the eyes. Glossy, naturally tinted lips are in vogue. Make-up is sheer, eyebrows are thicker, and pouty lips and square nails are out. I feel mehndi and body tattoos are on their way out. Hair is now in a single colour, very straight and blunt. And save the streaks, please!
Any people you have really enjoyed working with?
It was fun working with Laila Rouss in Channel V8217;s Close-Up Close Encounters and with Mini Mathur in Khubsoorat.
And what do you do when you aren8217;t working?
I am afraid I don8217;t go to the in8217; places or do any in8217; things. I exercise a lot and adore being with my close friends. I love shopping and the one thing I really indulge in is sniffing around for new make-up.
