Charge-sheet against Biswas quashed

CALCUTTA, April 29: Calcutta High Court today set aside and quashed the charge-sheet issued and proceedings initiated by the Central government against Central Bureau of Investigation CBI joint director east, Dr Upen Biswas. A division bench also set aside the order passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal on March 12, rejecting Biswas8217; petition challenging the charge-sheet and proceedings against him.

The charge-sheet was issued for departmental inquiry into his giving direction to his subordinate, without taking permission from the higher authority to call the army in executing the non-bailable arrest warrant issued against former Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav in the fodder scam cases.
