Centre sends team

A Union Home Ministry team has reached this city and is now reviewing security arrangements for the 33rd National Games scheduled here from February 9. This comes almost immediately after yesterday8217;s comments by Assam Olympic Association secretary Mukut Medhi that he was in no position to guarantee security to the participants. Home Ministry joint secretary North East Navin Verma will review the security scenario following a series of bomb blasts and the banned ULFA8217;s call to boycott the Games, official sources said today. Verma inspected the various venues and also the Games Village.
