Business rivalry: Cable operator attacked

A feud between two local cable operators in Ghatkopar was taken to streets on Monday morning, when a gang of goons attacked Kripali Jawalkar8212; one of the cable operators in the area8212; on Tuesday. Jawalkar sustained severe injuries on her hand and alleged that her rival cable operator in the area had sent the goons to attack her. Following the incident, Jawalkar filed a complaint with the Vikhroli police station.

The police have booked the accused identified as Vimal Balbhim Nagane, Sharad Nagane, Balbhim Aryan Nagane and Manibai Gonde for attempt to murder. 8220;I was attacked when I was on my way to Mulund. I sustained injury on my wrist,8221; said Jawalkar.

According to Jawalkar, she had complained to the Collector about an illegal cable service that was run by the accused in the area. 8220;Following this, they developed grudge against me. They run an illegal cable service business. But, I have taken all the necessary permissions to run a cable service network and pay taxes regularly,8221; said Jawalkar. When contacted, the Vikhroli police said, 8220;It8217;s a case of cross complaints as both the parties allege that the other was running an illegal business.8221;

8220;Cases have been registered against both the complainants and accused ,8221; said Police Sub-inspector Nitin Vijaykar who is investigating the case.
