CHANDIGARH, Nov 26: Border Security Force, marksmen pushed their rivals Central Industrial Security Force CISF to the background in the precision part in the centre fire pistol ISU open category on the second day of the 23rd Northern India shooting championship being held at Sector 25 Shooting Range.

Naresh Kumar of BSF with an aggregate total of 143/150 is in the lead. His team-mate Poonam Kumar is lying second while Subhash Rana of CISF is third.Rajiv Sharma of Delhi with a total of 140/150 led the field in the civilian category in the centre fire pistol. He was followed by Sewak Singh of Punjab.

Another Delhi8217;s shooter Praneek Kohli excelled in the NR senior men8217;s section. His aggregate score of 143/150 was enough to give him a commanding lead over his rivals.

In the civilian category Trivendra Singh Rana of Uttar Pradesh was leading with a total of 132/150. However, Narender Singh Rana, who also had an identical score was lying second as he was two shots down on the last card. While Gurminder Singh of Punjab was third with a score of 118.

Competition was also held in .22 prone air rifle and air pistol NR.However, some prominent CISF shooters like Shilpi Singh, Sushma Rana and Sonika will be seen in action tomorrow.
