Bring back Pardeshi — PCMC corporators

The corporators have said that the pace of developmental works during Pardeshi’s one and half-year tenure as commissioner had picked up momentum but over the last one year the momentum could not be sustained.

In a memorandum which was to be faxed to chief minister Narayan Rane and chief secretary Arun Bongirwar, over 40 corporators demanded that Pardeshi should be reinstated.

Incidentally, civic officers too have been making enquiries if Pardeshi would be reinstated. The government is to take a decision in this regard.

Civic functionaries get back vehicles: FOLLOWING the directives of the election commission to relax the election code of conduct till October 5, elected office-bearers of the PCMC were today given the official vehicles. Cellular phones too have been handed over to them while the official telephone lines at the residences are also to be reinstalled shortly.

The state election commission has said that as polling has already taken place in the state, the election code of conduct has been relaxed. However the election code of conduct will be in force on October 5, 6, and 7 during the counting.
