
After suffering a major setback during the 2002 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 11 Allahabad seats, the BJP this time is gearing up for the elections with foolproof booth management. The party is holding workers8217; meetings in each of the segments to execute its booth management plan, prepared by its election managers.
The BJP has already conducted two workers8217; meetings in this connection, while the another nine will be held before the polling day in the district, scheduled for May 3. BJP8217;s new booth management policy has laid emphasis on 8216;trapping8217; breadwinners of families soon after party nominees file their nominations.
The BJP headquarters in New Delhi has directed party workers to get in touch with voters in each ward through mobile phones and meet them personally. 8220;All this should be done within a few days of filing nominations, so that we can strike a rapport with our voters and also manage to swing votes not favouring us into our kitty through our regular contacts,8221; district unit chief of the BJP, Narendra Dev Pandey, told The Indian Express.
