
Forex assets up 56 mn
MUMBAI: India8217;s foreign currency assets FCA increased by 56 million to 30,629 million during the week ended June 11, 1999. The total foreign exchange reserves, as a result, were up to 33,489 million, according to Reserve Bank of India8217;s weekly statistical supplement.
The central government increased its access to ways and means advances from RBI by Rs 1,446 crore to Rs 5,952 crore during the week ended June 4, 1999. During the fortnight ended June 4, term deposits with scheduled commercial banks were up by Rs 4,281 crore while credit to the commercial sector was down by Rs 3,349 crore. The seasonal fall in commercial credit in the current year so far at Rs 5,891 crore was, however, lower than the fall of Rs 8,313 crore in the corresponding period of 1997-98.
Hyundai model
NEW DELHI: Hyundai Motor India on Saturday announced an upward revision of Rs 6,000 for its Hyundai Santro standard variant, to be effective from Monday. The upward revision of the priceof the Santro standard variant will be effected across all Hyundai dealerships in the country, Hyundai said in a statement here. The new price of Santro standard variant would be Rs 299,940 ex-showroom Delhi, against the price of Rs 293,940 ex-showroom Delhi prevailing up to June 20.
This phase of upward price revision is applicable, at present, only to the standard variant of the Hyundai Santro and not to the two deluxe variants or the three Euro-II options, it said.
