
GNFC pays 22 per cent
MUMBAI: The directors of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers Company (GNFC) have maintained the dividend at Rs 2.20 per share during the year ended March 1999. Total turnover and other receipts amounted to Rs 1191.90 crore against Rs 1248.63 crore but it earned a higher gross profit of Rs 234.01 crore against Rs 219.54 crore. The net profit is also higher at Rs 78.78 crore against Rs 68.97 crore.
Apollo Tyres
MUMBAI: Despite an estimated production loss valued at Rs 250 crore due to disruptions at its Kerala and Baroda units, Apollo Tyres has reported improved operations margins for the year ended March 1999. The company reported net sales of Rs 1151.16 crore and a profit of Rs 75.32 crore before depreciation and tax. The profit after tax stood at Rs 40.02 crore. It has proposed 40 per cent dividend.
