MUMBAI: Reliance Industries Ltd RIL is endowing a chair for corporate law and governance at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. The chair will be named the Reliance Professor of Corporate law and Governance, said a company press release.
The Reliance chair for corporate law and goverance will coordinate and manage studies, academic courses, training, curriculum development, publication, dissemination of information and documentation pertaining to corporate laws and governance at the National Law School NLS. Apart from his normal academic responsibilities, the Reliance professor will also be responsible for organising conferences, seminars and consultative meetings, facilitating policy formulation and law reform in the area of corporate law and governance.

MUMBAI: Zenith Computers Ltd launched its exchange scheme under which users of old computers of 286, 386, 486 or pentiums can exchange their systems with the latest state of the artsystem based multimedia computer based on the Intel 266 MHz Pentium II processor with 16 MB RAM, a 2.1 GB hard disk and a 1.44 MB floppy drive costing Rs 49,900 inclusive of all taxes. Zenith will pay back Rs 5000, for old 286/386, Rs 10,000 for 486 and Rs 15,000 for Pentium machine. The company has also decided to donate 2000 PCs received under the scheme to government, muncipal and rural schools. This would be the largest PC donation in the history of the computer industry. 8220;Most of these schools do not have access to the computer and the basic idea of donation is to promote computer literacy which is the need of the day. Under the scheme the existing users will also be getting the latest state of art machines,8221; said Raj Saraf, CMD, Zenith.
