Beant Singh assassination case

CHANDIGARH, April 6: Two of the accused 8212; Paramjit Singh Bheowra and Jagtar Singh Tara 8212; in Beant Singh assassination case today continued their fast unto death till they are allowed baptism. They had declared the fast yesterday after their applications seeking permission for baptism were declined by UT Additional District and Sessions Judge B. S. Bedi.

Meanwhile, Jail Superintendent R. D. Sharma refused to comment on the status of the fast. He also refused permission to meet the accused. quot;I have released the ration for the day and now I don8217;t know who has used what,quot; he said.

The trial, which was interrupted yesterday after six accused boycotted the court proceedings, has now been adjourned till April 21. Yesterday, the proceedings were deferred after the accused walked out of the court raising pro-Khalistan, pro-Babbar Khalsa and pro-Bhinderwale slogans.
