Azamgarh may have elected the BSP’s Akbar Ahmed Dumpy, but the byelection saw yet another son rise. Dumpy’s campaign had a star campaigner in his son, Azan, a Class X student in one of Delhi’s upscale schools. The school is known for its five-star comforts, even in its schoolbuses. Those following the campaign say the young man, who even addressed crowds, made the “people like us to people like them” transition with the ease of a seasoned politico.
