Noted actor Nilu Phule has been nominated for 8216;Jayantrao Tilak Memorial Life Time Achievement Award8217; given by Kesari Maratha Trust, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth and Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, Pune chapter.
8220;The award will be presented to Phule at the hands of N S Pharande, former chairman of Legislative Council of Maharashtra,8221; said B B Kulkarni, secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, Pune chapter. The award consists of Rs 25,000 cash, shawl and bouquet. This is the second year of the award which will be presented on the occasion of Marathi Rangbhumi Din on November 5 at 6 pm in Tilak Smarak Mandir.
Kulkarni also announced the names of Mata Janaki awardees given to wife or mother of deceased artistes. This year8217;s award will go to Pramila Marathe, Begum Mirajkar, Vatsala Panse, Thakubai Bandal and Shubhada Solapurkar.
Besides these awards, Laxmi Narayan Jodi award, which is given to an artist couple, will be given to Maithili and Jayaram Potdar. The award consists of Rs 1000 cash, shawl and bouquet.
Kulkarni said that the Tilak Smarak Mandir had decided to display photographs of late Marathi artistes in the premises of the auditorium. 8220;Photos of 28 such artistes including Damu Anna Malwankar, G D Madgulkar, Chhota Gandharva, Patthe Bapurao, Vasant Shinde, Sharad Talwalkar and Jitendra Abhisheki will be displayed,8221; he said.
