November 24: The Ninth APEC Ministerial meeting ended here with an agreement to strengthen economic foundations to overcome the current monetary turmoil affecting some Asian countries.

In their joint statement issued at the end of the two-day meeting on Saturday, the APEC Ministers said detailed discussions on overcoming the monetary turmoil will be left to APEC Finance Ministers who will convene soon.
