All allies equally accountable for UPA functioning: CPI

The CPI in Jharkhand said that all allies supporting the UPA were equally accountable for the non-performance in the state.

.

As the Congress mounted pressure on the Madhu Koda government to rein in alleged corruption and speed up development in Jharkhand, the CPI on Wednesday said all the allies supporting the UPA government were equally accountable for the non-performance.

The responsibility and accountability of the Congress, the JMM and the RJD are no less important than that of the Chief Minister, CPI8217;s state unit secretary and Lok Sabha member B P Mehta told a press conference in Ranchi.

The JMM has more responsibility as three of its ministers are in the Koda cabinet, Mehta added.

He alleged that the NDA in power for six years and later the UPA in office for a year, had failed to fulfill the dreams of the people even as the state marks its seventh foundation day on Thursday.

The most important area to have been neglected is migration. Over a lakh women are migrating every year in search of jobs, Mehta said adding, so also is the plight of roads and electricity in most parts of Jharkhand.

The Left leader said the CPI, with other Left partners in the state, would soon begin a people8217;s movement.
