Accused escapes

PUNE, April 26: An accused in a criminal case who was produced in the Shivajinagar sessions court and was being taken away to the Deccan police station escaped from police custody yesterday afternoon.

The accused was identified as Rohidas Shivraj Yevle 20, a resident of Sasanenagar, Shindevasti in Hadapsar.

As Yevle, who was handcuffed, was trying to get into the police van, he gave a sudden jerk to his hands and managed to escape. The Deccan police are investigating the case further.
