35,894 applications for CHB flats

CHANDIGARH, Feb 16: The Chandigarh Housing Board has received 10,270 applications for the Economically Weaker Section EWS flats and 25,624 applications for the Lower Income Group LIG flats. The figure reveals that for each flat 71 bidders have applied along with the prescribed application money.

The EWS and LIG housing schemes in Sector 52, comprising 144 EWS and 360 LIG dwelling units, were floated on January 21 and closed on February 5.

According to Board officials, the eligible applicants will be allotted the constructed houses by July 2000.
