Twinkle Khanna shares décor tips to give your bookshelf a stylish makeover

Below are 10 easy rules shared by the Mela actor to decorate your bookshelf. They are:

1. Leave space between stacks of books to display mementos.
2. Add candles and artefacts as bookends. 
3. Try making groups by using colour or size.
4. Create interest by crafting horizontal and vertical stacks.
5. Add beautiful pieces on top of your stacked books.
6. Use plants and flowers to add softness and break symmetrical lines.
7. Introduce texture with baskets and ceramics.
8. Keep making adjustments till it feels right.
9. Think in terms of layering.
10. Add some wonderful art.

In the video, one can see Twinkle arranging her sage blue bookshelf  by colour. The Pyjamas are Forgiving author had rows of orange and yellow novels that transitioned into pinks and reds, then whites, purples and blues and finished at brown. She arranged them in both horizontal and vertical stacks to create some visual element and drama.
