Bhumi shares her morning secrets (Source: Bhumi Pednekar/Instagram)Having a morning routine is a simple yet powerful way to enhance your overall health, fitness and skin. It provides mental clarity and stability– setting a positive tone for the day ahead. Bhumi Pednekar believes in something similar as she follows a simple but consistent morning routine to keep her overall well-being in check. She shared the same in a recent video posted by Tweak India on YouTube.
“In this episode of Morning Chai, watch as #BhumiPednekar reveals everything from the secret behind the morning face glow (hint: it’s not face wash) to her favourite makeup product,” the caption read.
When asked about her morning skincare routine, Bhumi shared that the biggest thing she does for her skin is drink about half a litre of water– sometimes even a little more. “If I am not shooting, then I don’t use a face wash in the morning because I feel like my skin oozes some really good healthy oils,” she said.
The actor admitted that earlier, she did not pay a lot of attention to her internal health and focused only on external things. “I would try using these really fancy serums, creams, eight layers of different products, etc. But then I realised that all of it is actually connected to what you eat and how healthy your gut is,” Bhumi said.
This switch, she shared, helped Bhumi calm her digestive system, which in turn, improved her hair, nails and skin. “So now my routine is very simple. I don’t live without sunscreen; it’s literally one of the first things I do. I just moisturise,” the actor said.
While Bhumi doesn’t eat breakfast often, on days she does, she loves devouring dosa, poha, sabudana khichdi, etc. “I love South Indian food. I think Marathi kanda poha is the best, and I have had many arguments with my friends from Madhya Pradesh and other places where they make poha. But, no!”
It’s a cup of coffee that wakes up her brain on a dull morning, she revealed. “I can’t live without coffee. I also pray in the morning. I have a 20-minute prayer ritual that I do, which really energises me,” she shared.
If she had only 10 minutes to spare for a quick exercise on a rushed morning, she would prefer skipping. “It is the best form of cardio workout that you can get.”
When asked what she would do if she had the entire house to herself, Bhumi jokingly said that she would raid her sister’s wardrobe to see what all she has taken from her.
One morning habit she would like to break is checking her phone. “It’s just so difficult, and I am trying so hard not to reach for my phone in the morning,” she said, adding that her morning mantra is to jump out of bed. “If you just get out of bed with energy, your day is going to be positive, and everything is going to be great.”
