Anna Wintour is the ‘it-lady’ of fashion and has been for a very long time. Nothing in the fashion industry happens without her involvement. In the latest episode of The Run-through podcast of Vogue US, Wintour reveals details about her work and family life, including the time she wakes up, what her mornings look like and what her grandchildren call her.

Revealing her morning routine, Anna said she wakes up at a quarter to five every day to start her day right. “I’m just an early morning person, and I’m not someone that stays up late and goes to the after parties,” Wintour laughingly tells her interviewers.

She thinks mornings are a “helpful time for her to figure out the day, the week, the month.”

Anna further reveals that she reads news online and never in print. “I look online at all the British newspapers. I read The New York Times. I read The Wall Street Journal,” she says.

She adds that she likes making early morning calls to global colleagues if there’s anything urgent as that’s a “calm moment to do that”.

Anna also likes to go to the gym every morning and take a walk. “I go to the gym. I walk through Washington Square Park, which is always an interesting experience.”

The global chief content officer at Vogue now, Anne reaches office between 8 to 8:30 am, she shares.

When asked what the best thing is about getting old for her, Anna shares that it has given her patience. “I think you learn that in the end, everything will be fine. And you just need to think about things calmly and rationally and try and come out making the right decision.” She adds that there is not much left to surprise you at this age.

Anna reveals she doesn’t go by grandma but rather her grandchildren call her “dog” as she owns a lot of dogs.

After the interview, you’d find Anna enjoying a vacation in Long Island, tending to her garden, playing tennis and spending time with her grandchildren and the rest of her extended family.
