Are you getting exhausted with day-to-day activities? Well, now is the right time to add pumpkin seeds to your diet to combat fatigue and get the much-needed energy boost you require to stay active throughout the day. These tiny, green seeds are packed with nutrients like magnesium, zinc and protein and may help keep tiredness at bay.

Dr Uma Naidoo, food psychiatrist, Harvard University, took to Instagram to share why she recommends pumpkin seeds to maintain energy levels. “When I meet with a patient who reports regularly feeling fatigued, one of my go-to food recommendations is pumpkin seeds. High in magnesium, zinc, and protein, these tiny nutritional powerhouses are filled with nutrients that may help boost your energy levels,” she wrote.

Adding, she said, “Magnesium (present in pumpkin seeds) decreases inflammation and relaxes the nervous system. For example, when you exercise, lactate accumulates in your blood, which leads to tired and achy limbs. However, magnesium can prevent this lactate accumulation, which in turn helps relieve fatigue”.

Magnesium helps convert food into energy and supports muscle and nerve function. Incorporating pumpkin seeds into your diet can supply these essential nutrients while also aiding with fatigue management,” she explained.
