Try and include these dishes in dinner. (Photo: Pixabay)While we love to eat our favourite food daily, we need to be mindful of our meals especially, dinner. In Ayurveda, there are certain food options that are considered best for dinner, experts say, which helps in better digestion, and boosts metabolism too in the long run.
Dr Rekha Radhamony, an ayurveda expert, recommended a few dishes that should be considered for dinner. According to her, dinner should be the lightest meal of the day.
“Our digestive fire (agni) is the lowest during the night. Undigested food can lead to the accumulation of toxins which is known as ama and is the reason for chronic diseases etc in the long run. Hence, dinner has to be the lightest meal of the day,” she wrote in her Instagram post.
Dr Rekha shared the following dinner options which according to ayurveda are considered best:
Roasted veggies
As per Ayurveda, roasted vegetables are a light and easy dinner option. You can make the vegetables more digestible by adding spices and ghee.
Lentil soup and green chutney
Dr Rekha suggested another good dinner option–lentil soup accompanied by green chutney. As per her post, it is easy to digest, complete with six tastes and added with spices.
Barley soup
For those who are looking to lose weight, barley soup is perfect for them as it aids in weight loss. Also, it is good for diabetic people who are suffering from urinary system disorders.
