Ramayana actor Ranbir Kapoor once shared the lifestyle habits he has adopted to stay healthy in his 40s. In a now resurfaced video from 2022-2023, months after he took paternity leave and before signing up for the mythological film, Ranbir can be heard saying that he wants to stay healthy for himself and his daughter Raha.

“Right now, my focus is to spend time with my daughter. I have changed a lot in my lifestyle. I have quit smoking, drinking, and I have become a vegetarian. I am doing a lot of yoga and meditation. So, I am really trying to clean up my life. Entering my 40s, I am trying to be healthy. Trying to be healthy for my kid. Healthy for myself. So, I think I am really focusing on myself,” The then 40-year-old said in a conversation with @RamayanaMovieHQ on X.

Transforming life in your 40s by quitting alcohol, embracing a vegetarian diet, and adopting healthier routines is like giving your body a fresh start for the decades ahead, said consultant dietitian and diabetes educator Kanikka Malhotra.

According to her, the difference is often felt within weeks: deeper sleep, lighter mornings, and a mind that feels noticeably sharper. “By dropping alcohol, stress, and brain fog lift, your heart and liver can finally breathe easy,” said Malhotra.

Malhotra elaborated that eating vibrant vegetarian meals—packed with colourful veggies, lentils, and whole grains—fuels the body with steady energy, keeps weight and blood sugar in check, and naturally battles the silent threats of heart disease and diabetes.

“People often report feeling lighter both in body and spirit, enjoying daily activities with renewed zest. This midlife reboot isn’t just about adding years to life, but life to years—making every day clearer, healthier, and more joyful,” said Malhotra.
