What are some of the best breakfast combinations that you begin your day with? For Anshula Kapoor, there is nothing that beats the flavourful combination of poha with boiled sprouts. The social media influencer took to Instagram Stories to share a glimpse of relishing the all-time snack favourite.
“Poha + sprouts = Majjani ni life (The most fun part of life), wrote Anshula.
Taking a cue from her diet dairy, we decided to understand why the combination is a power-packed one.
According to Suvidhi Jain, lifestyle, exercise, and nutrition coach and founder – LEAN by Suvidhi, sprouts are a nutritional powerhouse, offering a combination of fibre and protein that makes them a valuable addition to any diet. “These tiny wonders can be used creatively to enhance your meals. Whether you toss them in salads or mix them with dishes like poha, you’re not only boosting their fibre and protein content but also making your diet more wholesome and satisfying,” said Jain.
Moreover, sprouts are incredibly low in calories. Jain elucidated that 100 grams of sprouts typically contain only about 30 to 35 calories.
“In terms of protein, that same 100 grams of sprouts can provide you with approximately 3 to 4 grams of protein. This makes them an excellent choice for those looking to maintain or lose weight while still enjoying a nutritious and filling addition to their meals. By incorporating sprouts into your diet, you’re making a smart choice for improved overall health, balanced nutrition, and calorie-conscious eating,” elaborated Jain.
