Recently, she shared a message with her followers, encouraging them to include the practice of yoga in their daily life. “Hello Divas, how are we doing today? It’s the first Monday of the new month and this is your reminder to stay consistent with your Yoga practice,” she wrote in the caption.

According to Neeraj Pandey, Senior Yoga Coach, Fitelo, it is important to understand that the word ‘Yoga‘ is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Yuj’, which means to unite. “This translates to the essence of Yoga, which is focused on unifying individual and universal consciousness to create the perfect balance and harmony between mind (mental) and body (physical).”

Adding, he said, “Yoga is known to help improve cardiovascular fitness, enhance posture, and even recover from physical injuries in some cases. On the other hand, poses, breathing, and meditation, which are at the core of Yoga, promote mental health, enhance concentration, increase patience with your body and mind, and reduce stress and anxiety.”

Apart from this, Malaika also shared three very important affirmations to follow and preach in life via the caption of the post. These affirmations are:

*I am kind to myself.
*I am grateful for the life I have.
*I am limitless. Anything is possible.

Affirmations are positive statements that can help us to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. “They have been used to successfully treat people with low self-esteem, depression, and other mental health conditions.  However, they may be more effective when we pair them with other positive thinking and goal-setting. The power of affirmations lies in repeating them to ourselves regularly,” Vishnu Priya Bhagirath, a counselling psychologist, told indianexpress.com.

Concluding, she said that creating positive affirmations can help us to feel calmer and more confident. When repeated daily, these affirmations challenge unhelpful thoughts and encourage positive changes in our life.
