With the ongoing Bihar Elections, a video of an Australian vlogger challenging common myths regarding the state has caught the Internet’s attention. Fozzie Bhai, a popular food vlogger, shared an Instagram video showcasing Patna, suggesting it is not as underdeveloped or chaotic as often portrayed, even by people from other parts of the country.

“Is India really as dirty as the ragebait travel vloggers would have you believe? As someone who lived and breathed India for almost two years, I can tell you it’s just not as black and white as other foreigners depict to the masses,” Fozzie captioned the video.

In the new viral reel, he is seen walking through the streets of Patna and mingling with locals while sharing his views on the typical narrative surrounding the state. “It’s actually a very friendly city. I have had the camera off for about 10 minutes from the last little block of the footage and people are very friendly,” Fozzie said.

“It’s actually quite clean. Now, the infrastructure, obviously, is going through development. That’s quite obvious. But what you’ll notice, even though the development is currently ongoing, the streets are kept very clean,” he added.

The video has since gone viral, prompting a flurry of reactions. “at this point, i’ve seen foreigners appreciate bihar more than our own people. kind of ironic, huh,” a user wrote. “Thats what I have noticed tier 2 cities in india are cleaner than tier 1 cities,” another user commented.

“Patna is as safe as any regular city in India. Indian from outside of Bihar have made a fuss about Patna as unsafe, extremely underdeveloped to fulfill their superiority complex,” a third user reacted.

The first phase of the Bihar Elections 2025 concluded on November 6, while the second phase is slated for November 11. The results will be announced on November 14.
