Inside The Great Indian Kapil Show set: Kapil Sharma’s ‘new home’ at Netflix is designed like a lavish airport lounge

When he moved to Sony TV and started The Kapil Sharma Show, the set was designed as that of a ‘mohalla’ with a hospital, beauty parlor, and also a tea stall. It also had neighbors dropping by now and then.

Now with the Netflix show, The Great Indian Kapil Show, the scale has gone up. While the set is a jazzy one set inside an airport, it has some very lavish elements too. From a waiting area to a lounge to a special Kappu’s cafe, to designer shopping kiosks and stores, the new set for Kapil Sharma’s show is marvelous to look at. At the centerstage of the set is a rotating café something that has never been done before on any of Kapil’s shows. The set has an elevator too.

There is so much attention paid to detail that the chandeliers on the set are also very similar to that we see at Mumbai’s Terminal 2 Airport.  This time what is also new is that a lot of new characters are going to be introduced on the show.

As Krushna Abhishek mentioned at the press conference on Tuesday, they have tried some things that have never been done before. The Great Indian Kapil Show streams from 30th March, every Saturday at 8 pm. The guests in the first episode will be Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. Other guests on the show include Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra, Aamir Khan, and Rohit Sharma, amongst others.
