Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap reached out to actor Divya Agarwal after she shared an open letter on Instagram, asking for work. In a video message, she said she only wants an opportunity to audition for him. Now, the Bigg Boss OTT winner has revealed that the filmmaker has responded to her Instagram post and has promised that he will call her for an audition whenever he has an appropriate role for her.

Elated on getting a response from Kashyap after watching her Instagram video, Agarwal told India Today, “He must have not commented on the video but he did reply to me on Instagram. He said that he is overwhelmed. I said that I am sorry if I caused any trouble because of this entire drama. But he told me that he is overwhelmed and that he will reach out to me if he has any audition for me. His text read, ‘Humbled by this. Will reach out for future projects.'”

Before Divya Agarwal, veteran star Neena Gupta had also asked for work on social media. She had posted a video on Instagram and wrote, “I live in Mumbai and working am a good actor looking for good parts to play.” Agarwal came to know about it after watching the Netflix series Masaba Masaba, and also realised that “it was so simple to ask for what I wanted”.

Agarwal, who has also been a part of MTV Splitsvilla season 10, posted the video after failing to get the roles she desired. She said though she is not short of offers for work, she wants to do something different now. The young actor also revealed that she chose Kashyap because she finds him to be “relatable”.

She said, “I have attended a number of workshops by Anurag Kashyap in Prithvi theatre. He has many stories of his own career. There are stories where he has gathered people in a room and said, ‘chal film banate hai.’ That part of him is so relatable.”

Divya Agarwal had shared a video on Instagram with the caption, “This is an open letter to @anuragkashyap10 ❤️ Call me stupid I’m going to say it anyway ! Kaam Mangungi sabke saamne mujhe koi sharam nahi ! #hopeful #grateful.” In the video, she said, “I want to do the kind of work that you do.”
