Actor Vikram suffered a rib injury during the rehearsals of his upcoming film Thangalaan, directed by Pa Ranjith. The actor is currently on a break from the shoot and is recovering at home. As wishes pour in for Vikram on social media, a fan went all the way to the actor’s house and stood outside the gate showing a board with a get well soon message. The board read, “Get well soon, Chief Chiyaan. Lots of love and hugs.”

The fan shared a picture of him standing outside the gate on Twitter. Vikram, who was moved by the gesture, shared the tweet and thanked the fan. He wrote, “Thanks for coming all the way to my house. When all of you are around, what else do I need? I’ll be back.”

Earlier, Vikram’s manager tweeted that the actor has injured his rib while rehearsing for Thangalaan, and he is currently undergoing treatment. “Thank you for all the love and appreciation Aditha Karikalan aka Chiyaan Vikram has received and for the astounding response to PS2 from all over the world. Chiyaan sustained an injury during rehearsals resulting in a broken rib due to which he will not be able to join his Thangalaan unit for a short while. He thanks everyone for your love and promises to be back on his feet and rocking at the earliest,” the statement read.

Thangalaan, based on real incidents that happened several decades ago in the Kolar gold mines, has Vikram playing the head of an indigenous tribe. A making video of the film hinted that it is set during colonial rule. Produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja, the movie also stars Pasupathy, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, and Daniel Caltagirone. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music for the film, which is set to be released next year.
