R Madhavan to headline biopic of inventor GD Naidu

Actor R Madhavan seems to be on a signing spree. The actor has come on board the biopic of inventor Gopalswamy Doraisamy Naidu, who is referred to as the ‘Edison of India’.

The biopic is being bankrolled by Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited, which is producing director Mithran R Jawahar’s yet-untitled film starring Madhavan. A post on the production house’s Twitter handle read, “Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited signed with GD Naidu charities to make a Biopic on the life and achievements of Miracle man #GDNaidu with @ActorMadhavan as the lead.”

The first poster of the biopic shows a balding man with his back towards the camera, facing a car in what looks like a garage.

GD Naidu was an inventor, engineer and businessman. He is credited with having manufactured India’s first electric motor. Naidu made significant contributions to a variety of fields, including mechanical, electrical and agricultural.

Madhavan was last seen in the biopic Rocketry: The Nambi Effect which was also his directorial debut. The film was based on the life of former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayan.
