Months after separation from wife Aarti, Jayam Ravi adopts new name: ‘New chapter in my journey’
Following Jayam Ravi's announcement of his separation from his wife, a controversy had erupted after Aarti claimed she learned about the divorce through his public statement.

Months after announcing his separation from his wife of 15 years, Aarti, Tamil actor Ravi, popularly known as Jayam Ravi, has issued a statement informing all that he will henceforth be known as Ravi Mohan, omitting the title of his debut film from his name. Referring to this change as a “new chapter in the journey,” Ravi explained that the name “deeply resonates with my personal and professional aspirations.”
Through the statement, he also announced the launch of a new production house named Ravi Mohan Studios. The actor pledged that the company would focus on discovering and promoting powerful narratives that “inspire, captivate and resonate with audiences worldwide.” Ravi also shared that his fan associations have now been restructured into a formal organisation named Ravi Mohan Fans Foundation, aimed at giving back to the communities and people who have supported him throughout his career.
Following Ravi Mohan’s announcement of his separation from his wife in September last year, a controversy had erupted after Aarti claimed she learned about the divorce through his public statement. She expressed feeling “shocked and saddened” by the announcement and emphasised that she had tried to communicate with him beforehand but received no response. Adding to the tension, rumours began circulating about Ravi’s alleged relationship with singer and spiritual healer Kenishaa Francis, further intensifying the situation.

Matters escalated when Kenishaa disclosed that Ravi Mohan had contacted her in June for professional support, describing himself as “mentally and emotionally bruised and battered” by his marriage. She also accused Aarti and her family of “abusing” Ravi. In response, Aarti issued a firm statement clarifying that her silence should not be mistaken for weakness or guilt. She stated that she chose to maintain her dignity rather than engage with those trying to “portray me in bad light to conceal the truth”.
