Dhanush’s Raayan gets a new release date, see announcement poster

There’s a lot of confusion among film producers of Tamil cinema with respect to release dates of movies. Earlier, we reported about the changing release dates of Thangalaan and Kanguva. Now, Dhanush‘s Raayan is also facing a similar issue. The film was first slated to hit screens on June 13. However, later it was claimed that it was getting postponed to July. Now, it is confirmed that Raayan will be released on July 26. This will be two days ahead of Dhanush’s 41st birthday.

Dhanush took to social media to share a new poster of the film, along with the new release date. The poster features him in a rustic macho avatar and behind him is the painting of Kali. Dhanush poses in such a way that the several hands of Kali come across as his.

Directed by Dhanush, Raayan also stars Dushara Vijayan, Sandeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, SJ Suryah, and Selvaraghavan in important roles. AR Rahman has composed the music for the film, which is produced by Sun Pictures. The movie is written by Dhanush himself and is touted to be his dream project.

Other than Raayan, Dhanush has his other directorial venture Nilvauku Enmel Ennadi Kobam and Kubera in the pipeline.
