The Wolfman

NOW what could be the reason for making yet another werewolf film, and leaving the scope for a sequel?

NOW what could be the reason for making yet another werewolf film, and leaving the scope for a sequel? You have entrails strewn around the ground,on top of half-eaten hands, beheaded bodies and burnt corpses, but the scariest part is watching Del Toro — in weird hair and weirder scowls — trying to look interested in the proceedings, and an ageing Hopkins trying to revive his Silence of the Lambs menace.

A faithful Indian servant, only known by his last name “Singh” and by the hair he keeps coiled up,keeps on toiling uncomplainingly in what is obviously a house of horrors in faithfully reproduced gloomy English countryside, circa 1891.

Having turned into a “beast” after being bitten by a werewolf,Del Toro in human form keeps pleading that he be killed. However, the film ominously ponders: “They say there is no sin in killing a beast… only a human. But where does one end and the other begin?”
