Hosted by Lisa Ray,the show takes the audience on a tour of five Indian cities Jaipur,Hyderabad,Delhi,Kochi and Chennai and focusses on their obsession with the bling, the shine and the shimmer.
The show comes as a whiff of fresh air on TV,where it tries to portray something Indian, while other shows and channels are busy showing the international lifestyle. It is a learning experience as each episode delves into Indias extravagant jewellery traditions that are still prevalent and make up the countrys rich cultural fabric. What adds up to the USP of the show is actress Lisa Ray who is back in action after going through treatment for cancer. She is a true entertainer, with her lively attitude and candid chats and keeps the viewers hooked to the show.
Lisa tries to dig into every possible thing in the city,be it its culture or the heritage monuments apart from her quest of jewellery. One needs to watch out for Hyderabad, where you get to see the glorious world of pearls where the actress not only wears them but also gets a bath in a spa where she lies in a tub filled with water, pearls and rose-petals. The experience of Kochi is also amazing where the actress discovers gold on sea-food apart from clothes.
Oh My Gold! has everything, about gold, right from the evolution of the culture and tradition of gold,to the making of the glistening jewellery out of it. The show takes its viewers right from the room where the artistic pieces are made using the gems to the fashion shows where models display these ornaments on the ramp.
