Kangana Ranaut denies going under the knife

Kangana Ranaut talks about her movies,Aditya Panscholi,Adhyayan Suman and yes,Hrithik Roshan.

Controversy seems to be her middle name. Recently, there were rumours of Kangana Ranaut refusing to promote her forthcoming film,Raaz — The Mystery Continues, after issues with the crew — she suspected them to have leaked out details of her personal life. But the two parties have called a truce and Ranaut’s speaking to us again.

“I am not going to react if a Tom,Dick or Harry makes a remark without any knowledge of facts. A month ago,a news channel quoted a doctor who claims that I went under the knife. It’s the same channel that shows people flying and stories of non-existent ghosts. You mean,I should take it seriously?” she says with characteristic candour.

The lissome Ranaut is currently shooting for ‘Kites’ opposite Hrithik Roshan, her first film with a commercially successful actor,or a ‘star’ in Bollywood lingo. She doesn’t discuss her character but assures that every film she does has an element of realism in it. “’Raaz’ is different. It’s pure fiction, which was difficult to do since there was no real reference point for me.”

Raaz revolves around Ranaut’s character,Nandita, who is experiencing the supernatural and struggling to cope with it. “The fact that Nandita’s boyfriend (Adhyayan Suman) doesn’t believe in the supernatural makes it worse for her,” she explains. And then there’s the mysterious Emraan Hashmi — a painter who can predict Nandita’s future.

It was on the sets of ‘Raaz’ that the actress fell in love with Suman and claims that he has been the pillar of support since. Ranaut at that time was battling rumours of her alleged relationship with Aditya Panscholi. “The controversies never got in our way. We felt a connect and there were no questions asked. I’m an independent woman and he provides me the emotional support.”

She has, however, forgiven Panscholi and moved on. “He apologised saying he gave the interview in a drunken state. He made a mistake and realises it,” Ranaut adds.

The actress’ penchant for controversy is often cited as the reason she does intense roles, which, say many, tends to get repetitive. But the candid actress remains unfazed. “I have no intentions of changing my image. I’m here to do good work and I don’t care if it takes being a tragedy queen to do that. I’ve been in the industry merely two years and am in no hurry to ‘experiment’,” remarks the soft-spoken actress.

In real life, however, the 21-year-old enjoys watching comedies. “I am your typical popcorn flick audience. In fact,I can never watch the kind of work I do — it’s a tad too intense for me,” she laughs.
