Eva plans to celebrate her Latin identity on the big screen.

‘Desperate Housewives’ star Eva Longoria Parker plans to celebrate her Latin identity on the big screen by playing Mexican film star Maria Felix in a planned bio-pic.

The Mexican-American actress admits she has always wanted to play Felix,who passed away in 2002 at the age of 88 and especially because her own Mexican genes,reported New York Daily News.

“I’d love to adapt the story of Maria Felix. I think she’s the icon of Mexican cinema,and I would love to bring her story to life. I’m very proud of being Mexican-American,so I celebrate it as much as possible,” she told the newspaper.

The actress who is married to French basketball player Tony Parker had been embroiled in a race controversy last year where she allegedly passed a racist comment on a coloured policeman.
