CHANDIGARH, May 12: UT Judicial Magistrate Ist Class Tejwinder Singh today allowed the bail application of Sukhdeep alias Vicky Bajwa and Ramnik alias Rummy Bajwa. The alleged accused, who were wanted by the police in a theft case, were today released on bail after they furnished bail bonds in the sum of Rs 50,000 each along with one surety in the like amount.

The Magistrate granted bail observing that the alleged accused were of tender age and that no purpose would be solved by detaining them.

The prosecution contested the bail applications on grounds that the stolen articles of complainant Ashok Agarwal had to be recovered from the possession of the accused. The defence counsel, however, submitted that police remand had already been sought twice and yet no recovery had been effected.

The complainant had in the FIR alleged that he was denied entry into the disco on grounds that he was not accompanied by a female partner. Following this, there had been an altercation and Vicky and Rummy had allegedly beaten the complainant and snatched his gold chain, purse and mobile phone.

Bail was sought on grounds that the applicant had to appear in BA-I examination which will end on May 25. The Judge also considered the fact that the registration of FIR in the case had been inordinately delayed. While the incident occurred on December 26 last year, the FIR was lodged on May 7 this year.
