We have been eagerly waiting for the release of Vishal Bhardwaj’s forthcoming film, ‘Haider’ which hits screens this Thursday (October 2).

Bollywood celebs who have watched the drama, are already going gaga over it. If the trailer of the drama hasn’t convinced you yet, we give you 5 reasons to watch this Indian adaptation of the Shakespearean drama – Hamlet.

1) Shahid Kapoor: This Bollywood heartthrob formerly known as ‘Chocolate Boy’ has surely proved his talent onscreen in films like ‘Kaminey’ and ‘Mausam’. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Shahid play a substantial role, since his dabbling with comedies and masala flicks. Admitting that ‘Haider’ has been one of the most challenging roles of his film career, we have full confidence that the Kapoor lad’s performance will leave us wanting more.

2) Shraddha Kapoor: Since ‘Aashiqui 2’, Shraddha has easily taken the spot of B-Town’s favourite girl. Shraddha’s last release ‘Ek Villain’ was also equally impressive and expectations from the actress in ‘Haider’ are sky high. Also, it would be interesting to see Shahid and Sharddha share screen space for the first time.

3) Tabu: No doubt, Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Haider’ boasts of an extremely talented cast including Tabu and Irrfan Khan. Irrfan who plays Tabu’s dead husband in the film, says the actress has given the best performance of her career. The film’s trailer gave us a promising glimpse of Tabu’s character reflecting shades of grey. Tabu had earlier worked with Vishal in ‘Maqbool’, which was based on Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth.’

4) Vishal Bhardwaj: Known to be a great storyteller, Vishal Bhardwaj has captured the hearts and minds of his audience with films like ‘Maqbool’, ‘Omkara’ and ‘Kaminey’. The filmmaker has also co-written the script and composed the music for ‘Haider’.

‘City Lights’ director Hansal Mehta said the film’s casting was perfect. “‘Haider’ is stunning. Vishal ‘Bhardwaj redefines Hamlet and how good is Haider and what a performance by Shahid Kapoor. Tabu is stunning so is the entire ensemble. Pitch perfect performances,” he tweeted.

5) Kashmir: Set in beautiful and tumultuous Kashmir, ‘Haider’ will allow the audience to delve into the picturesque snow-capped mountains of Jammu and Kashmir. The film has been shot at various locations including Sonamarg, Anantnag, Pahalgam and Dal Lake.
