‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ at No. 3 among Bollywood’s highest opening weekend grossers

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’ stays unbeatable as it has occupied the top slot with a total of Rs. 108.86 crore to its credit in the opening weekend. Aamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3’ earned Rs. 107.61 crore in the opening weekend and comes close second.

Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ review: The real film only starts post-interval

‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and child actor Harshaali Malhotra earned Rs. 27.25 cr on the opening day (Friday), Rs. 36.60 crore on the second day (Saturday) and Rs. 38.75 crore on the third and final day of the weekend (Sunday). With this the total amount earned by the movie in the first weekend is Rs. 102.60 crore.

The Top 10 weekend grossers list is dominated by the Khan trinity with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chennai Express’ being at No. 4: Rs. 100.42 crore, Salman’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ at No. 5 : Rs. 100.16 crore and Aamir’s ‘PK’ being at sixth position: Rs. 95.41 crore.

Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Bang Bang’ is at No. 7 with Rs. 94.13 crore to its credit, followed by SRK’s ‘RA.One’, Salman’s ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Kick’ which earned Rs. 92.00 crore, Rs. 88.75 crore and Rs. 83.83 crore respectively.

For Salman Khan, Eid has been the best time for releasing a movie as it does wonders at the box office at this time. With a huge fan following not just in India, but in abroad as well, his latest release ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is earning good numbers at the overseas box office too.

Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ released last Friday (July 17).
