Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif still on board to star in Jee Le Zaraa; Farhan Akhtar shares new pic from location scout in Rajasthan
The hotly anticipated film Jee Le Zaraa is apparently still on track to star Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. Director Farhan Akhtar provided an update on social media.

Farhan Akhtar confirmed that Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif are still on board to star in the upcoming road trip drama Jee Le Zaraa. The film is notable for several reasons. In addition to serving as Priyanka’s return to Bollywood and Farhan’s return to direction, it’s one of the rare examples of a Hindi movie led by three female stars at the peak of their popularity.
On Thursday, Farhan took to Instagram to share a picture of an apparent recce. It showed him standing on a sand dune, looking into the distance. “Searching for gold,” he wrote in the caption of his post, and added the hashtags, “location scout’ and ‘Jee Le Zaraa’. Farhan also identified the location as Rajasthan, and credited cinematographer Jay Oza for the photo.

But proof that the central cast of the film remains intact, despite recent rumours, could be seen in who Farhan tagged on the post. In addition to Excel Movies, Tiger Baby, his producing partner Ritesh Sidhwani, sister Zoya Akhtar and her producing partner Reema Kagti, Farhan also tagged Alia, Priyanka and Katrina.
Fans were overjoyed. “Can’t wait for this one,” one person wrote. “Jaldi jaldi karo Farhan,” wrote another fan. Jee Le Zaraa was announced in 2021 with a special video. But no proper updates came after that, and the film seemed stalled. During this time, Priyanka became a mother, Alia got married and also became a mom, and Katrina tied the knot as well.
Last year, Priyanka told Bollywood Hungama that she had no idea when the movie would actually enter production, but said, “I am shooting a movie with my friends, and when you do that, it’s just not work, it’s creative fun. Hopefully we shoot it next year.” This would mark her first Hindi film since 2016’s Jai Gangaajal, after which she switched base to the US and appeared in a string of American projects. Jee Le Zaraa would also mark Farhan’s first film as director since 2011’s Don 2.
