Kabir Bedi and Parveen Babi had a short-lived but intense affair that happened right around the time when Parveen was battling with her mental health issues. Kabir, in a recent interview, opened up about the end of his relationship with Parveen and said that he encouraged her to get help, but she was against getting any medical help. Kabir claimed that Parveen broke up with him because he was insisting that she consult a medical professional. In a chat with Digital Commentary, Kabir recalled that Parveen was accompanying him to Italy when he was starting to become an international star because of his television show Sandokan, and soon after that, when they went to London, he felt that her condition was getting worse. "I could see that her condition was getting worse. And I told her that you must take treatment. But she did not agree to it at all. I knew that if she does not take any treatment, her condition might get worse. And this is why we eventually separated," he said. Kabir said that contrary to everyone's belief, it was Parveen who actually left him, and not the other way around. "She left me because she was afraid that I will force her to have treatment. Paranoid minds are scared of everything. She was scared that if some doctor gets to know, he might tell someone, and her career might get over," he said and added, "Parveen Babi left me, I didn't leave her."
