When Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan welcomed their first son, Taimur Ali Khan, in 2016, the internet went into a frenzy. Fans couldn’t get over his expressive eyes and adorable looks, and soon, Taimur became one of the most photographed celebrity babies in India. The constant paparazzi attention made him believe he was famous — until Kareena had to gently burst that bubble. Speaking to Soha Ali Khan on her podcast, Kareena revealed, “Our children are not yet exposed to social media, but they do get photographed. Unlike before, they now understand that their parents are famous.” When asked if her kids ever question why they’re being photographed, Kareena explained, “Jeh doesn’t ask as he’s still too young, but Tim used to. He got used to being clicked, and when I once asked the paps not to photograph him, he got offended. He said, ‘Why did you stop?’ I told him, ‘Because you’re not a star.’” ALSO READ | Taimur asks Kareena Kapoor if she has a contact for Lionel Messi and Virat Kohli, ‘has no clue’ about Ranbir Kapoor or Ranveer Singh Kareena continued, “He went through a phase trying to understand why he couldn’t be clicked. He’d say, ‘If you’re getting clicked, why can’t I?’ So I explained that I’m famous, and he’s my son — not famous yet. Now he says things like, ‘I’ll have to become like Messi or Virat Kohli, then I’ll also get clicked.’ He’s understood it now and doesn’t care about the attention anymore.” The actress also shared that she and Saif consciously keep their sons away from the limelight to ensure a normal upbringing. “We haven’t exposed them much to our films or taken them to our sets. Sometimes they spot me in an ad and ask questions about it,” she said. Kareena added with a smile, “Taimur knows he’s famous, but he also knows it’s only because his parents are. It means nothing to him. He’s not interested in drama or acting — when I mention extracurricular activities like drama in shcool, he firmly says no. But he loves cooking, probably because he sees Saif doing it at home.”
