Ranveer Allahbadia controversy: Netizens dig up video of Priyanka Chopra schooling Beer Biceps on family values. Watch

Following the Ranveer Allahbadia controversy due to his 'unsavoury' comments on Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent, a video of his The Ranveer Show podcast with Priyanka Chopra-Jonas has gone viral.

Priyanka Chopra Ranveer Allahbadia video resurfacesRanveer Allahbadia's digital woes continue as Priyanka Chopra's old interview video resurfaces where they discuss importance of family.

In a rather anti-climactic twist to the fame of YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and stand-up comic Samay Raina, it was a comedy show on YouTube that made a rather huge dent to their reputations leading them down a path of infamy. Social media has been abuzz with people taking various sides to the controversy surrounding statements made by the guests at Samay’s India’s Got Latent. Ranveer aka Beer Biceps has been at the receiving end of intense negativity following his statements, and snippets from his previous video interviews have resurfaced, which, unfortunately, don’t paint him in a good light either. And one such video was Priyanka Chopra-Jonas’ statement about well… familial bonds.

In 2022, when Priyanka was the special guest on his podcast named The Ranveer Show, she was asked a seemingly innocuous question, and she had a rather straightforward answer that not only saw through the veneer of sarcasm in the question but returned it in kind. Talking about handling fame, and how she deals with her ‘stardom’ within the family, Ranveer asked, “Do you still go for family functions and all that? Can you? Because of the same fame angle. I can’t imagine you…” But before he could finish the question, the refreshingly candid Priyanka caught on to the tone of the question, and said, “You’re saying I’m not going to dance on the baraat of my brother’s wedding?”

Ranveer, known for his rather ‘put-on naivete,’ said, “Maybe…” and Priyanka, being her usual vocal self, said, “Maybe nahi bhai… Of course. Family is most important to me. My fame doesn’t define me. My fame is not my job. I’m not famous for a living, I work for a living and fame is the by-product. So, it’s not something I can control. That’s something that’s thrust upon me.” And Priyanka walked the talk last week when she was in the country for her brother Siddharth Chopra’s wedding. He got married to Neelam Upadhyaya, and she was in attendance with husband-singer Nick Jonas, and their daughter Malti Marie Chopra-Jonas, and of course… she danced at her brother’s wedding ceremonies.

The controversy around India’s Got Latent refuses to die down with Samay Raina sharing that he has deleted all episodes of the show, and many top-tier celebrities including Manoj Bajpayee and AR Rahman chipping in with their takes on the issue. There are also renewed debates about why any topic should be sacrosanct in humour and the need for self-censorship, and most importantly, should a bad joke be criminalised?
