Hosted by Salman Khan once again, the reality show Bigg Boss is set to return with its 17th season. On Saturday, Colors dropped multiple promos of the reality show and also announced its launch date. The new season of the ‘controversial’ show will kickstart on October 15.

As per reports, Bigg Boss 17 will see a few celebrity couples along with a few singles. The promos also suggest that a few of them would be given advantages by Bigg Boss, who would guide them to play the game better.

Dil, dimaag aur dum ka hoga ye game but ye game nahi hoga sabke liye same to same (This is a game of the heart, mind and strength, but it would not be the same for everyone),” the tagline declared. In one promo, Salman Khan takes up the avatar of a warrior; in another, he’s seen as a detective, while the third promo has him in the avatar of a Qawwali singer.

As soon as the promos dropped, fans were quick to point out how the show has always been biased toward a few contestants. “Tum to starting se hi biased ho to sbke liye same to same kaise hoga game,” wrote a fan, as another added, “Bas unfair game na ho,” “Pehle he bata rehe he partiality karenge😂😂😂” and “Promo itny boring hn season jitna boring ho.”

Salman Khan’s mother has stopped watching Bigg Boss

Bigg Boss launched in India in 2006 and has been keeping fans entertained since then. While the first season was hosted by Arshad Warsi, subsequent seasons were hosted by Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan, before Salman Khan took over. Over the years, many feel that the show needs to take a break given its repetitive nature.

While addressing the show and its content at a press meet for Bigg Boss 16, Salman Khan had shared that his mother Salma Khan used to love the show but thinks ‘it’s too much’ now. “She used to watch the show till season 14 and now is hooked to other shows on TV. She watches it only when I am there. Even Hiroo aunty (Hiroo Johar) told me that the violence gets too much,” he shared.

When host Gauahar Khan quizzed if they had any advice for him, he said, “They chadhao me that kuch karo unka (They encourage me to pull these contestants up). This is why I get carried away sometimes. They ask me to go and do something and I get all charged up.”
