Baby John box office collection day 8: Varun Dhawan’s Baby John has been struggling to attract audiences after being released on Christmas. The film opened to Rs 11.25 crore but saw a drastic fall in earnings on its second day, with just Rs 4.75 crore. The film, reportedly made on a budget of Rs 160 crore, is expected to settle at Rs 60 crore, according to trade experts. On January 1, the film earned just Rs 2.75 crore across India, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. Meanwhile, Pushpa 2: The Rule, which will complete one month of release on January 5, earned Rs 13.15 crore on its fourth Wednesday, out of which the Hindi version collected a total of Rs 9.5 crore.
Baby John, directed by Kalees, witnessed an overall occupancy of 22.38% on January 1 with around 1800 shows across India. In a week, the number of shows was reduced by 2500. The film is most likely to become one of the lowest earning film of Varun Dhawan’s career. Baby John, presented by Jawan filmmaker Atlee, also stars Keerthy Suresh and Salman Khan in a special cameo. Baby John’s total collection stands at Rs 35.40 crore India nett.
Baby John marked the return of Varun Dhawan to the big screen after his 2022 film Bhediya. The horror-comedy earned Rs 94.91 crore against the budget of Rs 60 crore. The actor was briefly seen in the highest-earning Hindi film of 2024, Stree 2. Between Bhediya and Baby John, the actor was seen in the film Bawaal, which was released directly on Prime Video. Varun will next be seen in the film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
